Working for the opposition

I've come to the conclusion that most people who read my blog (that means two out of the three of you) pretty much agree with most things I write about.

Since I'm a big fan of intellectual debate, I'm actually considering writing from the opposite point of view in my future posts, just so there's actually something to discuss.

I mean, there really isn't much point in writing stuff that people simply agree with, much less reading a blog that pretty much restates your own viewpoint.

Without debate, how do we grow? How do we question ourselves if we're all agreeing?

The tricky part is determining which issues I should write in my own opinion and which ones I should write from the opposite point of view.

Any thoughts?

I honestly find this idea idiotic. As if you can actually predict what other people would think on certain issues only.

But hey, as long as you only consider it and not actually do it.

Actually I think you should just write on a more varied range of topics (Which you seem to be doing since recently). I mean, just because someone often agrees with you on one topic, doesn't mean they'd agree with you on a completely different one.

Btw, I love lamp. Try disagreeing with THAT.

Or you could take the route of most people who truly love to debate and present BOTH sides of the issue. Then people could add to it, disagree with it, and more importantly, find out what both sides of the issue ARE, at least in your opinion. It seems to be a way for everyone to learn something.

Also, you have too much free time if you're thinking about writing things that have nothing to do with you. I mean... "Here's something I don't agree with. Enjoy." Know what I mean?

Saving Scott from his own idiocy since 2002. ;)

Em seems to be joining in the "Keep Scott Un-stupid" campaign as well. C'mon in, Dave needs all the help he can get.

Good points, both of you. Will consider. :)
